Come to this annual themed startup demo event Switch Philly. This year's focus will be college startups, during which we'll watch demos from five of the most exciting young companies founded by Philadelphia-area students.

6:40PM: Adria Bagdonavicius, founder of Purple Cloud Technologies (Drexel)

6:50PM: Morgan Berman, founder of Milkcrate (Philadelphia University)

7:00PM: Winner Announced and Attendees welcomed to move to the Entrepreneur Expo, (7-10pm) 22 S. 23rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This year's judges will include DreamIt Ventures Managing Partner Karen Griffith Gryga; Independence Blue Cross Innovation Director Tom Olenzak; Morgan Lewis partner Jeff Bodle; John P. Sullivan, Volpe & Koenig, P.C.; and Osage Ventures Managing Partner Nate Lentz.

The winner this year will receive a prize pack including:

    Karen Gryga

    Karen Griffith Gryga is a Managing Partner at DreamIt Ventures where she oversees the Philadelphia cycles and leads fundraising efforts for DreamIt Fund II. She is the co-founder of Liberty Venture Partners, a Philadelphia based venture fund established in 1997 with $150M under management; FashInvest, a media and events initiative known internationally, focused on emerging growth entrepreneurs within Branded Goods, Fashion, Fashion Tech and Retail; and co-founder and CEO of Lipstick Wisdom, a community website for mothers of children with neurological differences.

    Tom Olenzak

    Tom Olenzak is the Director of Innovation for Independence Blue Cross, a $10 billion health plan based in Philadelphia, where he leads an innovation program that marshals internal and external resources to address some of the largest issues impacting the cost and quality of healthcare in the region. He is currently helping to leadDreamIt Health, a health care Accelerator co-sponsored by IBC and the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Tom’s past experience includes twenty years of entrepreneurial, venture capital, and senior management experience in the health care and information technology industries. He has held senior operating and investment positions at several Philadelphia-area health care and technology companies including Safeguard Scientifics, First Consulting Group, and Integrated Systems Consulting Group. Tom is a graduate of Princeton University and lives in Malvern.

    Jeff Bodle

    Jeffrey P. Bodle is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice and its Emerging Business and Technology Practice. Mr. Bodle is a corporate and securities lawyer whose practice focuses on representing emerging businesses and other high-growth private and public companies throughout every stage of their lifecycle.

    He also represents seed and venture capital investors, private equity investors, institutional investors, and strategic investors in investment and portfolio company transactions.

    He also concentrates his practice on a variety of complex transactional matters, including IPOs and other public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, mergers and acquisitions and corporate partnering, joint venture, and other strategic transactions.

  • Nate Lentz

    Nate Lentz

    Nate joined Osage Venture Partners in 2008 and as Managing Partner oversees investment and portfolio management activities. He serves on the Board of Directors of BA-Insight, Canvas, InstaMed, FieldView, Medallion Analytics, PeopleLinx, Pneuron, and RackWare. He is also a board observer of Identropy and a member of the Technology Investment Advisory Board for Ben Franklin Southeast Pennsylvania. Nate is a frequent speaker and panelist at venture events and is actively involved with numerous venture focused organizations including PACT, NJTC, MAVA, and Early Stage East.
